Madrid/ Berlin, 22.12.2014: Incubaeco and UnternehmensGrün e.V. initiate a new European network for sustainable consulting – PRESS RELEASE

Greening Europe’ Economy!  This endeavor is now on the agenda for both Incubaeco, the Spanish platform for sustainability and green economy, and UnternehmensGrün, the German federal association of green economy. Both organizations work in their respective countries towards sustainable development and a greener and more sustainable economy.

Incubaeco and UnternehmensGrün have now joined forces in a first project called “Thinking green: towards an ecological and sustainable economy in Europe”. A particular emphasis is placed on sustainable and social and green start-ups and projects, representing major drivers and change agents in transforming the economy towards sustainability. The overall aim is to facilitate the transition towards a low carbon economy, to promote research and innovation and support a sustainable economy, able to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The goal is to establish a European network for sustainable consulting, fostering the exchange of innovative consulting strategies for a green economy.  As a first step in this cooperation, Incubaeco and UnternehmensGrün will develop guidelines for green and social start-ups and projects. These guidelines aim to offer first guidance and overview on most relevant areas and issues for green entrepreneurs.  In a video-workshop, taking place in Madrid in January 2015, the guidelines will be put to proof by some Spanish start-ups, but also French and Austrian start-ups will participate.

Both organizations can draw on a wealth of experience in green economy, green entrepreneurship and sustainability. UnternehmensGrün (UG©) – the German Federal association of green economy – was founded as early as 1992. Representing more than 150 members, UG© campaigns for the protection of the environment and a sustainable economy. UG© is a nonpartisan, non-profit and financially independent entrepreneurs association. Incubaeco, the platform for promoting eco-entrepreneurship in Spain, comprises an ecosystem of entities and collaborators that work together to accompany eco-entrepreneurs and foster green economy and sustainability.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the German Federal Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt, UBA).
