"Dear President Juncker, Last December, the world welcomed a new international climate agreement, which has been ratified by the European Union just last week. Cost-effective energy saving measures are key to fulfilling the EU’s commitment to contribute its fair share to limit global warming to well below 2°C, with efforts limit it to 1.5°C. Without overall energy savings and increased energy efficiency across the EU in the next decades, it will be near impossible to stay on the ambitious path to fast decarbonisation that is required to meet this commitment. The current levels of EU targets, including for energy efficiency, are not in line with the Paris Agreement. As business associations, consumer organisations and environmental groups, who represent a broad spectrum of Germany‘s civil society and economic community, we therefore highly appreciate your promise to increase the energy efficiency target to a minimum of 30 per cent and to make it binding."[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][vc_button title="Hier weiterlesen" target="_blank" icon="krown-icon-print" size="small" style="fill" align="left" css_animation_speed="faster" css_animation_delay="0" href="https://www.bnw-bundesverband.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Letter_Junker_161021.pdf"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
